Pre-requisite: Able to read Arabic (do not need to know how to speak or write Arabic)

The Curriculum

Using award-winning app technology and specialized curriculum by Imam Adam Jamal from getquranic.com, students will be able to look at any verse from the Quran and translate it by themselves, with minimal effort. This curriculum has been taught to hundreds of students with great success.

Most Arabic teaching courses today rely merely on lectures and theoretical aspects of Arabic as a language. They fail to include the actual hands-on practice that is necessary to learn with effectiveness and consistency. They also use non-Quranic examples and vocabulary, which wastes time and is ineffective.

Your goal is clear: to understand the Quran.

So, we only use examples from the Quran.

This course breaks down the core concepts and basic rules of Arabic in a simplified manner. Students are provided with practical ways to use the techniques necessary for Quranic learning and understanding. For every 5-10 minutes of instruction, students spend much more time actually applying what they learn with examples straight from the Quran.

FAQ

What are the pre-requisites for this class?

Being able to read the Quran in Arabic is a pre-requisite for this class. You do not need to be fast or fluent. You do not need to know Tajweed or be able to write in Arabic.

Is there an age requirement?

Students from ages 8-70+ have taken the course and they’ve all enjoyed it and benefitted. We recommend children under 12 attends with their parents.

This is a great class for:

• parents and children to take together.
• youths that are reading the Quran.
• busy adults because it enables part time learning with great results.
  

Will there be homework?

Most of the work is done in class, sometimes small amounts are assigned as homework.

What if I have to miss a day?

The course is easy to follow and most of the work is completed in class. Missed classes can be easily made up by making arrangements with the instructor to meet before or after class for a few minutes.

Tip: Invite a family member or friend to attend with you who can help you keep up.

What curriculum will we be using?

We will be using the Quranic Arabic curriculum by Imam Adam Jamal from getquranic.com, it has been taught to hundreds of students with great success.

The objective of the course is to learn the words and grammar that are low hanging fruit and make up 80% of the Quran. This simplicity and ease are part of the Quran’s miracle. With this course you will be able to start your journey in learning the language of the Quran.

We will learn Quranic words, phrases, and Arabic sentence structure in order to put all of it together. Students will also play quiz games in order to review the material and have fun competing with their classmates.

Why is this course held at the Winnipeg Central Mosque (WCM)?

The WCM is a welcoming place located in the heart of Winnipeg. Its central location makes the course accessible regardless of the area you live. There are several bus stops near by and ample parking in the adjacent lot. The corner of the mosque will be set up classroom style for a conducive learning environment.
