Importance to forgiveness, why is it hard to do. Impact on our mental health and wellbeing.
Nov 9: Self Compassion
Importance, how it has been undermined by the generation, how we need more of it as we age.
Dec 7: Gratitude and positive thinking
Importance, the science behind it, impacts on our mental health, challenges.
About the Presenter
Born and raised in Winnipeg, MB Treaty 1 Territory, Sophia Ali is a second generation immigrant and a distinguished woman leader. Currently serving as the Executive Director at Manitoba Alliance of Health Regulatory Colleges, Sophia brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table.
Additionally, Sophia runs her private practice, Wisdom Speaks Counselling & Consulting, leveraging her background as a Registered Social Worker. Her diverse educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Bachelor of Social Work, and a Master’s in Business Administration.
Beyond her professional role, she also contributes to academia as a faculty member at both the University of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba.
Sophia is a board member of the Canadian Race Relations Foundation, Institute of Corporate Directors- MB Branch, St Boniface Archdiocese Safe Church Committee and the Manitoba Islamic Association Mental Health Initiative.
